When deciding on new home designs, there are endless options.

Do you pick something that suits your family situation right now, do you build bigger for the future, do you need a butlers kitchen? These are just some of the questions that come to mind when deciding, but, consider the following things when deciding on new home designs to make sure you end up with a home you love for years to come.

    1. Budget – Before anything, figure out what is a realistic price for you, do you prefer more space or high-quality finishes or both? Spend time with your financial advisor to ensure that you don’t get a nasty surprise cost halfway through your build.
    2. Space – Do you have soon-to-be teenagers or are you planning on a family moving in? Do you love to entertain or are you more of a Netflix buff? These questions can affect how you plan your space, it’s best to make a checklist of rooms that are vital, rooms that would be handy and rooms you don’t need before you look at floorplans so you can narrow down your choice.
    3. Finishes – Depending on the style of your home and what you’re planning to do with the home of your build, finishes can play a huge part in the final cost and design of your home. Figuring out what finishes to choose can be a little tricky, so it’s best to find a style you feel best represents what you are after and then work backward to figure out what features will give that aesthetic to your new home.
    4. Block size – Floorplans are dictated by the blocks they get built on. Make sure to check your design guidelines to see if there are any rules or regulations on new home designs.
